American Idol @ 8pm
The seventh winner will be crowned tonight, and his name will be David. But will it be Cook or Archuleta? The overstuffed, two-hour season finale will reveal all, albeit not until the show's final few minutes. Before the big announcement is made, the top 12 finalists reunite on stage to perform, and there will be plenty of surprise musical guests. If previous years are any indication, some of the best of the worst from the show's audition weeks will also pop up to give us a chuckle or two. So, who will win? Does it matter? Both Davids are supremely talented and will likely ink lucrative recording contracts in the near future. There will be a winner tonight, but there will be no loser.
CSI: NY @ 10pm
Mac enters an active crime scene in the nail-biting fourth-season finale. A bank manager is apparently shot during a robbery, but the thief insists the victim was already dead when he entered the bank's vault where the bloodied body is located. He demands a CSI be brought in to prove he didn't murder anyone. If his demands aren't met, he says he'll start shooting hostages. But as Mac investigates, it becomes apparent that while the jittery robber may be telling the truth, he isn't telling the whole truth.
Real World @ 10pm
While last week's episode ended with a few mended fences between the roommates, conflict once again runs rampant in Hollywood. Greg tries to enjoy a night with women he invites to the house but takes issue with Sarah's treatment of the matter. Greg's troubles don't end there, though, as Will plots a way to get revenge on his roomie. Elsewhere, Sarah's panties are stolen as a prank, but she thinks it's no laughing matter.
Top Chef @ 10pm
Top cops met the top chefs in the previous episode when our galloping gourmets created healthy box lunches for Chicago's finest. The heat was on when colorful Andrew was busted, his raw salmon roll with parsnip turning off the "food police" (Padma, Tom, Ted and guest judge Sam Talbot). Tonight the culinary unusual suspects participate in a "challenge of humiliation" (according to contestant Richard), laboring through a hectic breakfast rush at a greasy spoon. Then it's the annual Restaurant Wars, as the gang must devise and execute a restaurant concept.
