Weeds Cast Smokes Fake Marijuana

Actress Elizabeth Perkins, who stars in Showtime's hit TV show 'Weeds' insists that the cast only smoke fake marijuana, but when asked about the real stuff--she's all for it!

Perkins says the producers of the show supply them with fake weed that doesn't actually get you stoned.

She says, "It's a combination of herbs that don't get you stoned. If we smoked real weed, we wouldn't get anything done over here."

But Perkins insists the real drug is harmless. She added, "I think it is crazy that it is illegal, and I think it is crazy that people are in jail once they get busted with small amounts of marijuana. I just don't see it as that dangerous of a narcotic."

McCaniak and Perkinshater, I agree with voice of america in saying that you have fallen for propaganda provided by the federal government. Marijuana does not break apart families and make people do heroin. Prohibition does. Prohibition creates a black market where people are exposed to other drugs such as cocaine and heroin. Prohibition breaks up families because people are sent to jail for carrying a herb that is safer than alcohol or tabacy. Stop listening to the media and federal information about marijuana, do your own research. Some of you people really make me sick to what you hear on TV.

ok here i go, im not a pot smoker or am i a drug user of any kind. now since i was little i have seen the anti pot smoking commercials and i have never seen any of my friends reaching for a gun or doing something obviously stupid. i dont feel that marijuana is that bad of a drug, personally i rank it up there with alcohol. i mean technically alcohol is a man made substance, just like cocaine is man made. but those are my beliefs. and to the pot smokers, no nobody has died from it, but dont tell that it cant become addictive. if you only smoke once or twice a week then i would say your not addicted. but if your smoking 4 and five blunts a day or how ever you get it in you, then dont you think its a little addictive???

The thing is, that alcohol has been around for years and is all of a sudden a traditional drink in many places.. If we get weed into tradition, we are one more step towards legalization. I smoke but I can hold on my job and my friends just fine. Just don't smoke that often..

wow...some of you guys commenting are morons. I can't stand the whole mentality of taking a bad situation and having a need to blame something other than the person causing it. If a guy gets drunk and goes home and beats his wife that's HIS fault, not the booze. There are millions of people who can get drunk without beating people. Right now there are millions of people who get high and don't go on killing rampages or harm others in any way. In fact any of you who've ever been high would know that smoking pot is atually safer than drinking for those around you. When you're high from pot you don't want to do anything but sit around and chill. Nobody is getting hurt. The problem with the "war on drugs" is that it CREATES crime. If you make every drug that you don't like illegal then you end up turning anyone who uses it into a criminal. You need to spend tax dollars policing it and prosecuting the offenders. It means that people who responsibly take these drugs to turn to drug dealers and low lives to obtain these drugs. It's the same thing that happened with the prohibition. Al Capone made all his money from selling booze. I'm not saying hard drugs like coke or heroin should be legalized but something like pot that doesn't have nearly as bad side effects and can easily be enjoyed responsibly should be legalized. Amsterdam gets along perfectly fine with pot being legal. They regulate it so that no one place can have too much and you need a permit to sell it. If pot were legal you'd but thousands of drug dealers out of business, you'd make billions in taxing it, and you'd still be able to arrest and prosectue anyone who commits crimes while high. It's closed minded people like some of you that casue many of the world's problems, you feel the need to but into other people's business when they aren't hurting anyone or doing anything that's really that bad.
