Weeds @ 10pm Life (and death) on the Cal-Mex border becomes fraught with seriously involving drama, as the fourth season ends with a hold-onto-your-seat cliff-hanger. Good guys (to whom Nancy has been talking) and bad guys are being shot and tortured; buddies are screwing their friend's girlfriends; daughters are turning on their mothers; sons are getting deeper into the illicit family business. And Esteban's evil empire is in danger of crashing down around him,...

Nancy is still boinkin' the Tijuana drug kingpin mayor guy. Because of her stressed-induced migraine, Esteban takes her to some herbalist dude to drink some peyote or whatever. Celia is being brought into an intervention. Andy has found Maria, and smuggles her along with a few others across the border with the help of Doug. Minuteman extraordinaire, and over-muscular women obsessed, Lee Majors catches them in the act but lets them go never wanting to see them again. ...

The Hills @ 10pm LC and the gals are back for a fourth season of this breezy hit reality show. What's up with these hotties? Lauren's looking for love, and a boyfriend from her past may have something to say about that. Heidi and Spencer are playing house, and Lauren's still not talking to them. Whitney graduated college, and she's sweating her first real job and being newly single. And Audrina has her first real boyfriend, but...

Mary-Louise Parker is taking her act to the stage. She's just landed the lead role in a revival of Henrik Insen's famous play Hedda Gabler. She starts her run in New York in January 2009 when Weeds is on hiatus. This isn't Parker's first time on the stage; she first appeared in Reckless in 2004, and even won a Tony for her performance in Proof. She does have some big shoes to fill in this...

Nancy is back in the game, and Guillermo doesn't like it. When Esteban sits them both down to discuss the fact that Guillermo was planning on killing Nancy in front of her children, shock undoubtedly filled her face. This isn't going to be the last time we see Guillermo. Also it's the first day of school, and boy are Shane and Izzy happy about that. Celia is drugged out on everything but weed just to keep her...
Weeds @ 10pm Things just keep rolling along for cable's favorite pot-dealing suburban mom as Nancy gets all fired up when Guillermo bogarts her on the proceeds from their latest operation and she decides to make a big deal out of it with the big boss. Those "kinder, gentler coyote" wannabes Andy and Doug get tips on how to best maximize their "illegal immigration for profit" enterprise, and Silas' visit to Lisa's store evolves into something more than...

With Nancy finding a hole to Mexico underneath her store, poking around couldn't be avoided. And what she found was that this drug smuggling operation that was connected with the Mayor of Tijuana himself. The Mayor, who caught her poking around, kidnapped her and threatened her never to do that again. Also the estate of Bubbie is being sold off piece by piece. Doug and Andy, looking for their next scam, decide on getting into the Coyote business. Silas...

So Celia is Nancy's "back up". That excuse, though it lost Celia a tooth, saved her life. Of the many skills that Nancy has, lying is definitely one of them. Or is it just flirting? Guillermo is definitely no dummy either, as we saw in the Maternity Store front with an illegal traffic tunnel that he undoubtedly set up. So we'll see if he has something else in his back pocket for both of them aside from just...

Closer @ 9pm The red-hot cop series — which garnered cable-TV ratings records — burns bright in the Season 4 premiere. Here, a raging fire blazes through Griffith Park, threatening vast areas of Los Angeles. Just as Southern-fried policewoman Brenda Leigh Johnson tries to smoke out any wrongdoers, one of her archenemies — fire-starter Billy Croelick (a splendidly slimy Jason O'Mara) — enters the picture. Croelick is a pyromaniacal nutcase who "likes the smell of burning flesh," according to Chief...

Britney's performance of the year (no, we're not talking about her VMA performance) won't be earning her a spot in the Emmy race after all. She did make the preliminary list for consideration for her cameo role on How I Met Your Mother, but it looks like it's not deserving of a golden statue quite yet. Maybe she'll have to keep reprising her role next season to get in contention for the next show! But...

As it turns out Nancy, on a real run this time, will not only be smuggling pot over the border, but a fugitive Mexican as well. Not happy about that. Celia, having one shot at clearing her name, finally tracks down Nancy and the gang via a text message from Shane to Isabelle. At the same time Doug is being hunted down for his creative accounting, fleeing Dean's hotel room in the process. I'm guessing he's going...
