The Office @ 9pm
Michael Scott's Scranton branch unlocks the office doors and opens up for a brand-new round of incisive mockumentary fun. In tonight's hourlong Season 5 opener, the Dunder Mifflin staffers participate in a weight-loss program, only to become overly consumed with shedding pounds. Here's the skinny on other goings-on: Michael, ever the privately lovelorn and lonely, works on building a friendship (and more?) with the new HR worker (Amy Ryan, returning from...

Amy Poehler is heading from late-night to primetime. She's reportedly in final negotiations to join the Office spinoff.
The only other person who has definitely been cast in the show is Aziz Ansari. No other details have leaked, but we're sure we'll hear more info next week when the TCA happens!
Steve Carell won't be leaving Dunder-Mifflin after all! There were rumors that Steve would be leaving The Office for a spin-off show, but he's clearing them up, saying that despite his successful movie career, he's still on for three more seasons.
In fact, all of the main characters are signed on for three more years as well! Yahoo! We can't quite picture the Scranton branch without Michael Scott.
This past weekend the "6th Annual TV Land Awards" took place in Los Angels. One of our favorite TV icons Roseanne Barr came out to the event with her fellow cast-mates, John Goodman, Sara Gilbert, Michael Fishman, Martin Mull, Johnny Galecki. Both “Beckys” (Alicia Goranson and Sarah Chalke) were also there and they were even presented with the Innovator Award by Teri Hatcher.
Other stars that attended the event included Steve Carell, Justin Timberlake, Robin Williams, Henry Winkler, Kathy...
Ricky Gervais, creator of the British (and original) The Office, appeared on Saturday Night Live and poked fun of the American version, calling it a rip-off of the original. But little did know that the popular show is a spin-off of a popular Japanese sitcom with the same premise!
Angela Kinsey, who plays the rigid character also named Angela on The Office, has had a baby girl.
She and her TV writer Warren Lieberstein welcomed Isabel Ruby on Saturday. Angela's Office castmate Jenna Fischer was at the hospital for the delivery for support. Congrats to the couple!
30 Rock @ 8:30pm
It's full steam ahead for NBC's Thursday lineup, with all four lauded laughers (My Name Is Earl, 30 Rock, The Office and Scrubs) settling in after the writers' strike. Tonight on Rock, it's full throttle for New York's mysterious "Subway Hero," a hot do-gooder who prevented a terrible train accident — and Jack wants him booked on the show. The hero turns out to be none other than Liz's ex-flame,...
NBC has announced that The Office is getting a spinoff show. More
specifically, Dwight Schrute is getting a spinoff show. It'll air
right after the Office on Thursdays starting next February. So this is
the last season we'll be able to see Jim torture Dwight in the office?
No!
The only show that has ever been able to make this work is
Frasier, who broke away from Cheers. NBC better think long and hard
about this spinoff before...

TV has been so boring lately, especially with American Idol being such a drag this season. So it's great news to hear that The Office is almost back.
The first episode airs on Thursday April 10th. The name of the episode is The Dinner Party. Apparently Pam and Jim are forced to have dinner at Michael and Jan's house because they've run out of excuses.
Jenna Fischer from The Office just did an interview with Playboy and told them about a conversation she had when she first moved to LA with playwright/screenwriter Shem Bitterman, who told her she wasn't a real actress.
"I had been living in Los Angeles for about a year and was a member of a theater company. One night, after a play, I went to a party and ran into the playwright. He said, 'What's your story?' I...
