John Mayer Lands Variety Show Deal

In September Hollyscoop reported that John Mayer was in talks to host a variety-type show for CBS, and it looks like the deal is sealed.
According to TMZ, John will host a weekly music, variety, and sketch show for the network as early as 2009. Ken Ehrlich, who produces the Grammy’s and the Emmys, will co-produce the show with Mayer.

John Mayer looooooooves to talk, so the news that he might have landed a hosting job doesn't surprise us in the least! He's rumored to be in talks to host a variety-type show for CBS.
His big competition can be Rosie O'Donnell, who just landed the same kind of gig for NBC! We don't really know how we feel about John being a host.
