John McCain learned a very valuable lesson when it comes to late night television. You lie, you get bashed on.
A few weeks ago McCain canceled his appearance on David Letterman because "he had to fly back to Washington." But it turns out he was actually just a few blocks away prepping for an interview with Katie Couric. And let's just say David didn't take the news well.
Letterman showed a clip of McCain getting his makeup touched up before his interview with CBS. “He doesn’t seem to be racing to the airport, does he?” he asked the audience. “Hey, John, I got a question! You need a ride to the airport?”
Well McCain is now hoping he can patch things up with Letterman and has agreed to return to the show this coming Thursday, CBS said in a statement. Hmm...that should go well.
