David Blaine Sets World Record

David Blaine
David Blaine appeared on Oprah today in hopes of setting the world record for holding his breath, and he did it! He held his breath for 17 minutes and 4 seconds, beating the 16 minute and 32 second previous record.

Can you imagine? 17 minutes! While Blaine was underwater, he had to stay completely still in order to lower his heart rate and minimize oxygen consumption.

Soooo, congratulations David, but you're still sorta weird!
