Judges Were Over Jason Castro

American Idol
Jason Castro's elimination on American Idol last night didn't seem to surprise many, including the judges. Paula told ET after the show, "I think that Jason Castro kind of hit his wall. He lacks that professionalism and that experience."

She's obviously referring to Jason forgetting the lyrics to Bob Dylan's Tambourine Man, which made Simon say, "Pack your suitcase."

While America was probably right to vote Jason off this week, it seemed deep down that that's what he wanted. He's such a free spirit and has such originality, that he almost doesn't belong in a competition as cheesy and commercialized as American Idol. Towards the end, it was clear to see that Jason knew he belongs elsewhere in the music industry.

Hopefully his run on Idol will help push him in the direction of his dreams, and that he never loses the signature dreads and keeps rockin out!

I believe America voted to help Jason get out from under the AI truck. Jason is a great entertainer. He is a complete package, not only can he sing in a style all his own with great artistic expression, but he is exceedingly good looking , and has a personality that makes you just want to hear him more and more. You just gotta love that honesty. He makes you chuckle! He is gifted in terms of personna and charisma!. American Idol has lost a huge group of people who love Jason Castro, and I predict there is going to be a huge drop in viewers.I am a grown adult, and I find his off beat charm very entertaining! They missed the boat. Jason is in this for the long term, like it or not, people love him. It is surprising that AI missed that. It is so obvious. Good singers, rockers, what have you....they are not special or unique, but Jason Castro represents a lot of us, he is the real thing, out there expressing himself completely, better than anyone. I for one, loved what I saw, a raw talent on the brink of discovering what lies ahead for him; hold the American Idol packaged glamour. He wants to be an arist and with his package, I have no doubt that he is on way.I will watch him and buy his music, but I think I am done with AI manuipulative thing. I am really annoyed by the way things went this year. Simon said it himself, but did not take his own advice, "Don't underestimate the intelligence of this audience", and I would add, "or their integrity."

I am a 46 year old woman...I say that to make clear that the people who admire this wonderful young man, Jason Castro, are not all kids, girls with crushes, Idol boppers, etc. This kid is so darn talented it's amazing. But misunderstood in this particular venue of "pop stardom" and pomp. He has an "old soul"..that's meant in the most complimentary of ways. As well, he has this goofy, charming, funny and sweet thing going on that is clearly not artificial. I watch "Idol" because it's fun. Jason has given something this year that's original and special...and it can't possibly be ignored that this young man has the face of an angel... Wow! I'm sure his parents and family are very, very proud as they should be. He is a terrific role model for young kids. God bless this young man Jason Castro!
