Is David Archuleta The Worst?

While many think David Archuleta is a shoe-in to become the next American Idol, there's a group of people who think he's the worst contestant! VoteForTheWorst.com selects one member from American Idol every season whom they think is the worst, and encourages people to vote for them. So basically, they purposely try to screw with the system. This year alone, VoteForTheWorst supported Amanda Overmeyer then, following her dismissal, Kristy Lee Cook, Brooke White and lastly, Jason Castro. With all their favorites gone, they've moved onto little Archuleta.

The site says, "Catch Your Breath, Gaspy...You're the New VFTW Pick! Obviously less talented and less marketable than Syesha and David Cook, Gaspy is the new VFTW pick! Sure, he's annoying, but that's why he's perfect."

While it's a funny concept, this group is spending an awful lot of time casting votes and picking their favorite "worsts" just to screw with the Idol system.

I wonder how much impact they've had this year. It seems to me Idol finally stopped putting Sanjaya types into the competition to liven things up. Everyone in the Top 10 this season is talented, including Amanda and Kristy Lee, so there weren't any obvious "worst" choices for the evil doers at votefortheworst.com. Since there was no one as laughably talent-challenged as Sanjaya, votefortheworst had the wind taken out of its sails. At least, that's how I see it.

You people have absolutely no taste in music and vocalists with incredible vocals. So much meaness from uneducated and talentless people. Get over it. The Freak DAvid Cook is not going to win. We have too many loud freak shows in this world. David ARchuleta will win the competition. If you don't like the show, go get yourself a talent and an education.TURN IT OFF. If anyone here had the brains to actually go to the site and read about it, you'd see that the VFTW'ers don't hate people. They actually are supporting the ones they believe keep the show interesting and what goes against the AI 'concept' of a superstar. How many AI winners have gone on to be wildly successful? Please. After Castro was booted off (which by the way a LOT of people called in to vote for him from VFTW) they had nothing but great things to say about him. They are supporters, and when was the last time a Jason Castro made it to the finals and won? It's to keep a stupid, boring show interesting. You stupid people who don't do your research and talk about things you have NO IDEA about suck. ETA: David Archuleta SUCKS and will have even less of a fart of a career than Taylor Hicks!

David Archuleta is the hottest!! and definitely not boring!! I love all of his songs and listen to him all the time. I hope he wins. I know there are a lot of mean people out there that say terrible things about David A. I think it is because they are afraid that he will win. He has such a pure and good heart...how can any body say negative things about him..Archie, we love you!!!!!My super star!!!

It's OBVIOUS what VFTW is trying to do. They've had no success this season at all, and they clearly KNOW David Archuleta will win. By claiming him as the worst, they know that they can claim credit for his win when does. Then they will be like blahblah VFTW does contribute to the winner when really the whole thing is just obvious bullshit. It's really quite hilarious LOL

David Archeleto gives me the willies. He is like a soul-sucked zombie cult kid with a spacey attitude that cannot be attributed to his youth alone. His singing is very old-fashioned, karaoke in the Stevie Wonder school, and lacks anything that I would ever classify as new and refreshing. I think he is a creepy, dopey guy who has an obnoxious and creepy dad. I have hated this season of Idol because they have pushed this weird little toad all season and those who love him will have their idol, but, I have lost respect for America n Idol and David A. has cured my addiction for my once favorite Spring viewing obsession. I cannot stand even the sight of that weird little guy, but, everyone's entitled to their opinion, and that's just mine. We all have different tastes in music and people.

The person was allegedly not authorized to comment publicly and spoke on the condition of anonymity. However, Ms. Jamison stated that this was mischaracterized. “The ‘ban’, if you will, applies to all family members and others not directly affiliated with the show and 19 Entertainment. VFTW picked Carried Underwood when the competition was down to three contestants in season four. Seems to me that they have no real impact or taste as she is one of the most successful Idol winners.

90% of David Archuleta fans are not voting for who has the most talent. Instead, they are voting for who they would most like to date! I was a HUGE archuleta fan when i first heard him sing "Heaven" back in Hollywood. It was heartfelt and brilliantly done. But ever since then, and I can't tell if it's because he does the same "trick" with every song * inserting all these unnecessary, ill-placed vocal riffs or what, but I have grown WEARY of hearing the same freakin' thing week after week. Yes, technically he hits every note, but IT ALL SOUNDS EXACTLY THE SAME. It's also always the same over-rehearsed, mechanical performance in which he tries very hard to convey "emotion" through his face and body language * emotions that I don't think he has any idea about. He's incredibly contrived as an artist (even if his innocence and sweetness are authentic) and that is why I've gone from being his biggest fan... to hoping he gets the boot next week.

all you David haters, you are so jealous of his great talent for such a young age, I"d like to see you go on AI and perform you probably be laughed off the stage. David is the most talented one on AI and probably in AI history, and he deserves to win he is everything an american idol should be. talented and able to connect with the audience and sings from his heart more than I can say about the other David who is a copy of all the other rockers out there, David A is unique.

I don't personally care for American Idol, I don't like nor hate David Archuleta I just think this season sucks pretty much in general. I just wanted to point out that I think it's kind of interesting that everyone that supports VFTW seems to try and have decent debates about it and has supporting information, while everyone that thinks David is a godsend is just typing in caps lock and yelling at people, claiming that everyone else is jealous of his talent. Not neccesarily implying anything, but it's there.

that's the most RIDICULOUS thing i've ever heard, that david's fans just vote for him b/c he's "hot". he's definitely a good looking guy but it's his TALENT that's gotten him this far & will make him a very successful recording artist. i listen to his music ALL the time, b/c i enjoy it & it makes me happy! and i'm sure there's a lot of people out there who feel the same. so all you david archuleta bashers can just get off it. there's people that like his music and if you don't, just listen to something else!!!
