American Idol Recap

American Idol
We are narrowing down the five finalists and soon we will have our next AI winner! There are sure to be changes next season as viewers numbers although still high compared to others, has been slipping. Word is AI has been taking fans comments and suggestions on hates/loves of the show. Stay tuned for new changes--AI reinvented! Let's check out last nights performances........

Jason- His performances seemed a bit stale. He was missing that usual unique beat that he has shown us for the past few weeks. Even Paula, who seemed especially drunk last night, thought he had sang two songs and called the first one "empty". Earth to Paula he had only performed one song at this point. It's never a good sign if Paula doesn't remember you!

David C- He busts out the electric guitar and totally rocks this song (and gave Diamond goose bumps during rehearsal.) It just looks so easy for David C. to kick ass. Nice work! Simon said his second was brilliant! You can tell the Idols really look towards Simon for his opinion above all the others, you know David is very happy right now.

Brooke- Brooke looked like she's a deer caught in headlights and seemed to be hiding behind her guitar. Thank God she loosened up a bit because the ending wasn't that bad after she started having some fun. Thankfully, she did have more emotion to it towards the end and was more of the "Brooke" type we know and love.

David A.- He was off in the first few bars a bit. The arrangement was really weird. (But Diamond thinks he's a prodigy?) It felt like an obnoxious karaoke performance. The ending was good though. The judges said that his second song choice "America" was a smart choice. No one votes against anything patriotic!

Syesha- Wow, she looked very pretty, and her singing has improved each week. Although Simon jinxed her by saying she would probably get cut next week, Jason seems like he's more in danger of getting the boot. Syesha's second song is a sure fire for her to make the next round.

This debacle has nothing to do with the rehearsal notes or Paula being "spacy" or drunk, as some people are trying to claim as excuses. She explained it all on Ryan's radio show this morning, after they had all night to think about how to fix this, and when Paula wasn't as "confused" as she was Tuesday night: Paula: "I was reading the critique of what I was writing for Jason Castro, and on the same page that I wrote, was also David's, and I got lost on my notes, and that's as simple as it was. I did catch the last minute of Jason Castro" (the rehearsal she watched on the monitor). Ryan: "So what you are saying is, you were talking about two different people, but accidentally you said 'second song.' " Paula: "Yes." Obviously it was not David Cook's note she was reading. "I felt like your usual charm was missing for me. It kind of left me a little empty. And the two songs made me feel like you're not fighting hard enough to get into the top 4," but then David is "fantastic" and she's looking at "the next American Idol"? She was reading a script. C'mon.
