WTF was Paula wearing on American Idol last night? Has she forgotten how old she is? Her stylist should be fired! While we started off complaining let's continue. The theme of song choices were very weird: The year they were born? That's just asking for trouble. Do you think birth-year songs were a good idea? Who surprised you tonight? Ramiele, Chikezie and Syesha will definitely be in the bottom three. Chikezie going home is inevitable.... He sounds a lot like Vandross. He does a great job with it, but Randy thinks was too "old" feeling. Paula thinks he's a great throwback singer, and Simon thought he sang well but the performance was cheesy. He misses his personality. Aww, you softie, Simon.
Fan favorite David Archuleta performed John Farnham, "You're the Voice." Randy thinks it was a strange song choice, but thought that David performed it well. Paula says he could sing the phone book and we'd all fall in love him. Simon thinks it was on par with a theme-park performance, complete with animated creatures roaming about. Hee! Gotta agree with that!
They saved the best for last with David Cook, who performed "Billie Jean." This is the Eddie Vedder version. Ok, not really, but that's what he sounded like in the beginning. Randy thinks he's the most original contestant, and that it was "amazing, molten hot!" Paula thinks he's brave to stretch the boundaries. They both think he can win. Simon thinks it was brave and... wait for it... amazing! We think the Idol rankings will shift in his favor! What did you think?
